Houdini was born Ehrich Weiss in Appleton, Wisconsin on April 6, 1874.

Houdini Died on October 31, 1926 in a Detroit hospital. As is often eluded, he did not die from The Chinese Water Torture Cell. Shortly before the show, Houdini consented to a blow in the stomach from a fan, and was not given the opportunity to tighten his muscles. It was this impact that ruptured his appendix and resulted in his untimely demise at 52 years of age.
Houdini owned a dog named Bobby whom he enlisted as a canine escape artist in training. Houdini built confining devices for his beloved pet and taught Bobby the art of escape.
