Winnipeg, Manatoba, June 6, 2007: This Saturday in Niverville, Manatoba, “World’s Greatest Escape Artist” Dean Gunnarson will be chained and locked between two 450 horse power Case tractors weighing a combined 76,000 pounds and he will then be pulled apart limb by limb if he fails to escape in time.
Gunnarson will be handcuffed, chained around each leg, arms, around his waist and even his neck. He will then be locked to the back of each massive tractor and given 79 seconds to escape. Dean must escape as the tractors are pulling in opposite directions. Once the tractors start they can’t be stopped until all the cable reaches the end… or Gunnarson meets his end….
This death defying escape challenge has never been attempted by any one in world. EVER.
“These tractors will move buildings if they have to and nothing gets in their way!” said Grant from Artel farms in Niverville.” They are extremely powerful and weigh an amazing 38,000 pounds each. I hope Gunnarson escapes in time because his bones will snap like toothpicks if he doesn’t.”
This escape comes after Dean's recent TV specials in China where he escaped from the path of a speeding roller coaster that was viewed by 300 million people.
Brent Butt, star of the hit TV show Corner Gas, will entertain the crowd that evening before Gunnarson’s big escape at the Niverville Fair.
Dean Gunnarson has attempted escapes while dangling by his toes 726 feet over Hoover Dam in Las Vegas, he’s been chained and thrown out of an airplane 13,500 feet in the air in Japan, locked in a car and placed in a car crusher in Los Angeles, locked in a barrel underwater with over a 100 sharks and stingrays in China, hung over 130 man eating alligators in the swamps of Florida and escaped after being locked in straight jackets hanging from a crane attached to a burning rope in India, Venezuela and Egypt. Gunnarson holds two world records for escaping, as well as being seen on television in over 165 countries world wide.
